Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire in the 5400 block of Olivewood. The first arriving engine company reported a quarter acre fire in light vegetation and moving at a slow rate of spread with the potential for 5 acres with difficult access. The fire was proximal to an apartment complex and adjacent to railroad tracks. Crews of a first alarm response contained the fire to approximately 100’ X 100’ and worked to overhaul the area for approximately 1 hour. The cause of the fire was undetermined, but according to fireworks may have been the cause. Battalion Chief Scott Richmond was the Olivewood Incident Commander. There were no reported civilian of firefighter injuries.
