Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire on the 1000 Block of La Cadena Dr. While enroute responding units reported seeing a column of smoke and flames. Upon arriving on scene, the first arriving unit reported an auto repair business with heavy smoke and fire issuing from the roof of the building. The first due company officer chose a defensive strategy due to the heavy fire conditions presented. The fire was knocked down in approximately an hour however crews remained on scene for several hours to completely extinguish any remaining fire. Riverside City Fire Investigators were responded to the incident to determine possible cause and origin. Due to the severe damage sustained by the building and the heavy fire load the cause was deemed undetermined at this time. No injuries were sustained by any civilians nor fire personnel.
