Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a report of "wood on fire" to the front of a business. The first arriving unit discovered a large stack of lumber in a secured yard heavily involved in fire. The property belonged to Reliable Lumber which was addressed and accessed off of Citrus. The engine companies on scene worked to together to gain access to the property and extinguish the fire. The business owner was contacted and responded to the scene. A forklift was utilized to remove stacks of lumber so the fire could be completely extinguished and cooled. During firefighting operations, evidence of the use of a flammable liquid was found in the area. An arson investigator responded and conducted a cause and origin investigation. The owner had video surveillance footage of an unknown suspect lighting the fire and then leaving the scene. There were no reports of injuries to firefighters.
