Current Situation

On December 21st, at 2:16 pm, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to reports of smoke coming from a vacant house.  Fire crews arrived on scene and found a small one-story house near Park and 13th St. with heavy smoke issuing from all sides of the building.  The house was boarded up.  After forcing entry, personnel made an aggressive attack on the fire.  The fire was contained to the room of origin.  The vacant structure appeared to be in use by the homeless.  The property owner was on scene and was making provisions to secure the property.  Fire department arson investigators arrived on scene to examine the cause of the fire.  The fire was determined incendiary and likely human caused.  There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
