Current Situation

On 9/1/2025, at 1135 hours, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of an RV on fire on Philbin, near Montgomery.  The first arriving engine found a large RV fully engulfed in flames in the middle of the street.  Flames were impinging on power lines and threatening vehicles parked along the street.  The driver of the RV had fled on foot and was found nearby with moderate burn injuries.  An additional engine and an ambulance were requested to assist with patient care and containing the fire.  During fire suppression, it was discovered that the RV's propane tank was off gassing.  Riverside Fire's Haz Mat Team was requested to assist with mitigating the propane leak.  The RV was a total loss, and 5 passenger vehicles parked nearby sustained minor to major heat damage.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
