    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On April 25th at 4:55 AM, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3858 Pierce St.  Fire department crews arrived on scene and heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of a large commercial building.  The building housed various automotive repair businesses spread throughout 8 commercial units.  Due to the heavy fire conditions and the structural integrity of the metal building, a defensive fire attack was initiated on the affected fire units, while crews provided exposure protection for those businesses not involved.  The fire was contained to the two business units that were involved originally and the remainder of the building was saved from further damage.  The estimated loss was $400,000 to the building and contents with a save of $1,600,000.  There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.  The Red Cross was contacted for two displaced individuals, as well as Fire Prevention, Code Compliance, and Building and Safety.
