Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department initially responded for a fire alarm system activation/investigation in the 3900 block of Polk at an apartment complex. The first arriving company officer arrived to find a water problem and a burst pipe into a second story apartment. An additional resource was requested to assist with the water problem. Further investigation by the crew revealed a working fire in the attic above the main occupancy. A first alarm structure fire was requested, and the assigned units made a quick knockdown of the fire. Other actions included salvage and overhaul in multiple apartments.  A cause and origin investigation was also completed by the Fire Investigator. In total the incident took 23 firefighters approximately 2 hours to complete their work. Battalion 2 Richmond was in command of the Polk incident.
