    Current Situation

    At 12:27 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a second alarm vegetation fire response to the Santa Ana River bottom near the Martha McLean / Anza Narrows park.  Firefighters arrived on scene and the fire was reported to be approximately one acre in heavy vegetation.  The fire eventually grew to 4 acres due to moderate winds.  The forward progress of the fire was stopped at 3:12 p.m. and full containment at 4:40 p.m.  There were no homes damaged and no injuries sustained by Firefighters or civilians.  During the investigation of the fire, it appears to have originated in a homeless encampment.
