Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a possible vegetation fire in the river bottom near Jurupa and Tyler.  The first arriving engine made access to the bike path and discovered 3 separate fires burning in grass and bamboo in Riverside County Fire's jurisdiction.  A response from Cal Fire was requested and 2 engines arrived to assist with fire control and overhaul.  Forward progress was stopped on all 3 fires with a total size of .5 acres.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by Cal Fire.   There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
