    Current Situation

    At 0140 on 9/19/2022 the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire in the Santa Ana River Bottom below Grassy Trail Drive.  The first arriving unit found approximately a half-acre of dense vegetation burning adjacent to the bike trail.  The fire was brought under control at 0220.  Currently a total of 5 engines are on scene working to fully extinguish the fire.  Commitment time for resources is 1-2 hours.  There are no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation with human involvement.
