Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department and Riverside County Fire responded to a reported vegetation fire in the Santa Ana River bottom at the Market bridge overcrossing.  The first arriving unit found a fire deep withing the riverbed with a slow rate of spread.  The fire was quickly determined to be within Riverside County Fire’s jurisdiction and the City of Riverside Fire Department provided mutual aid assisting with the initial attack.  Two engine companies assisted until relieved by additional Riverside County Fire resources.  Battalion 1 White was in command of the River incident until relieved by Battalion 14A from Riverside County.  There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.
