    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On February 27, 2025, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a brush fire reported near Fairmont Park.  The first arriving unit reported a working fire deep into the Boy Scout camp area between Lake Evans and the Santa Ana River levy.  Crews made access and found approximately ½ acre burning in very thick vegetation.  A second alarm responded to provide additional personnel and equipment.  Crews made a quick attack on the fire and kept it contained at ½ acre.  The fire department arson investigator searched the incident and determined the fire started in a campfire pit. The cause of the fire was undetermined but most likely human related.  There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
