Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on the 7500 block of Evans Street in the City of Riverside. The first arriving unit reported a small, vacant, single story home was well involved in fire. The crews took immediate action on the involved home and one that was threatened on the back side of the main fire. No damage was sustained by the threatened home. The fire was knocked down in approximately 15 minutes and completely extinguished in 90 minutes.
Neighbors reported that they have had a tremendous amount of homeless activity in and around the home. And witnessed a group trying to extinguish the fire whom then fled once their efforts failed.
No persons were displaced as the home was vacant and no firefighter or civilian injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Code compliance was requested to re-secure the property.
