Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the Santa Ana River bottom behind the RPU water treatment plant.  Fire crews found a 20’ x 20’ spot of heavy vegetation burning at a slow rate of spread with no threat to infrastructure.  Crews hiked into the heavy vegetation and extinguished the fire with hand tools.  An investigator responded to the scene and conducted the origin and cause investigation.  Battalion 2 White was in command of the river incident.  There were no reports of damages or injuries.
