    The fire was contained to .125 Acres.  All resources have been released from the incident.  No firefighter or civilian injuires.  The cause of the fire was undetermined after investigation.  The fire originated in a homeless encampment.

    Forward progress of the fire has been stopped.  Resources are being released from the incident.  Fire originated in a homeless camp.  Commitment time is down to less than 1 hour.

    Initial Report

    The City of Riverside Fire Department is currently on scene of a 2nd Alarm vegetation fire, in the area of Mission Inn Ave. and Scout Ln., in the old Boy Scout Camp. The fire was reported as a 50’ x 50’ spot, burning in dense vegetation. Crews have just reported they have stopped forward progress of the fire. There are currently 5 Engines, 1 Brush Truck, 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Water Tender, 1 Patrol Engine, and 1 Arson Investigator on scene.

    Battalion 1, Chief Vanderhorst is the Scout Incident Commander. The Incident Commander is estimating that crews will be committed for approximately 2 hours.
