    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire at the former Boy Scout Camp near Mission Inn Avenue and Scout Lane. The fire burned approximately 1/4 acre. Crews worked in challenging conditions with low humidity and moderate winds. Due to the presence of heavy fuels, extensive mop-up was required. Five Engines remained on scene for approximately two hours to ensure complete extinguishment. The cause of the fire was undetermined but there was evidence of homeless activity.  There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
