Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported traffic collision at Streeter and Arlington. The incident involved a passenger vehicle and a fuel tanker truck, with both vehicles on fire. Initial arriving crews reported a passenger vehicle under the fuel tanker trailer, with both vehicles on fire. Fire crews engaged in an aggressive fire attack and searched for victims. The fire was knocked down and it was determined that the occupants had self-extricated prior to the fire department’s arrival. Fortunately, the portion of the fuel tanker that was struck was empty and resulted in no release of gasoline. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the fuel tanker was not injured. Crews will remain on scene until the remaining fuel can be safely removed from the trailer. Streeter will remain closed, between Arlington and Granada, until approximately 1530 Hours.
