Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a fire in an upstairs apartment at a senior living facility. Upon arrival, crews observed grey smoke coming from the building, with occupants still inside attempting to extinguish a lithium battery-powered scooter. Firefighters quickly took control of the situation, extinguishing the fire. The apartment sustained significant smoke damage, with minor fire damage to the kitchen floor. Fortunately, no injuries were reported for either civilians or fire personnel. The cause of the fire was determined to be a malfunction of the equipment.
