Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle collision with a subject trapped in the 4100 block of Melrose Street, adjacent to Arlington and California. The 1st due Engine Company found a vehicle that had come to rest on its roof after crashing through several fences, and striking a support post for a carport. The captain reported one female patient trapped in the overturned vehicle. Firefighters from Truck 3 were able to quickly extricate the patient from the overturned vehicle. The female patient, believed to be in her late twenties was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Several other parked cars were damaged in the crash, but there was only the one injury. A nearby business suffered damage to fencing as well.
