Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to the 5100 block of Tyler Street for a reported structure fire with multiple calls received. The first arriving unit reported smoke seen from the fire station. They arrived on scene to find a residential structure with heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear patio and roof. An aggressive fire attack was initiated, and the fire was brought under control at 1745. There was extensive damage to the home and its contents. It was unoccupied at the time of the incident. The loss was estimated at $250,000 with a save of $150,000. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries and no exposures to surrounding homes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
