FINAL UPDATE:
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to reports of an unfamiliar odor at Robbin Brothers in the Galleria at Tyler. Upon arrival, Engine 2 confirmed the presence of the suspicious odor and noticed several workers experiencing respiratory discomfort. Engine 2’s crew evacuated the premises, secured the area, provided medical assessments for the workers, and called in the department's specialized Hazardous Material Team.
Using advanced monitoring equipment, the Hazardous Material Team quickly assessed the air quality and identified the unknown substance. Working in conjunction with Riverside County Environmental Health, they efficiently mitigated the issue. Subsequently, the business was declared safe for re-entry. The evacuation lasted two hours and forty minutes, during which time all workers received medical evaluations. Fortunately, none required further medical attention. Additionally, the incident had no impact on customers or neighboring businesses.
Initial Notification:
The City of Riverside Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team is on scene at the Robbins Brothers at the Galleria at Tyler for an unknown odor and unknown substance. Four workers from Robbins Brothers are being treated on scene. AMR is assisting. Riverside County Environmental Health is responding to the incident. Robbins Brothers has been evacuated; no customers were affected. NO other businesses are affected. Battalion 2 is the Tyler Incident Commander.
