Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vegetation fire with a vehicle fire in the area of Valley and Mitchell. Upon arrival the first arriving unit determined the fires location to be in the wildand urban interface area with difficulty access.  The Company Officer further described a quarter acre fire in light fuels moving at a slow rate of spread with a potential for 1 acre and no infrastructure threats. Fire Units made access to the fire area and initiated direct fire attack on both the abandoned vehicle and for perimeter control on the vegetation fire.  Battalion 2 was in command of the Valley Incident. There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
