Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a traffic collision with injuries. Upon arrival we found one vehicle on its roof, in the mud, with major damages. It was lying on a sheered fire hydrant with copious amounts of water blowing through all four windows. We were unable to ascertain if anyone was in the vehicle due to the water flow. We initiated the Jaws of Life to access the driver compartment to the vehicle and shut the water off to the sheered hydrant. Once the water was off and access was made we were able to extricate the driver of the car. The adult male, who appeared to be the driver, succumbed to his injuries. The vehicle and surrounding area was checked for any other victims and none were found. The coroner was notified and the scene was turned over to RPD.
