Current Situation
At 1126 on September 19th, the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at a storage facility. The first arriving officer found multiple storage units well involved with fire. Employees of the facility reported small explosive sounds just prior to the fire. The fire was brought under control at 1143. A fire department arson investigator arrived and determined the fire was most likely caused by a lithium battery stored in one of the units. The explosion sounds were found to be ruptured aerosol cans. There were no injuries, and a total of 3 storage units were heavily damaged.
