Current Situation
At 0940 this morning, the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 4600 block of Victoria Avenue in Ward 1. The first-arriving unit discovered a working fire in one apartment of a four-unit duplex. Crews conducted an aggressive fire attack and successfully contained the fire to the involved unit, preventing extension to the three adjacent apartments.
The affected unit sustained significant fire damage. There was no extension beyond the unit, and no injuries were reported to occupants or firefighters. A Fire Arson Investigator responded to the scene, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The Red Cross was notified of 5 displaced individuals. The property was subsequently turned back over to the apartment manager and owner.
