Current Situation
On June 26th, 2025, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a tree fire reported behind the houses at the 2100 block of Westminster Drive. The first arriving engine reported a vegetation fire burning behind the houses at the location. Westminster Command was established. Three alarms were requested to the incident due to a moderate threat to adjacent structures. Once crews made access, they found a ½ acre burning in very dense vegetation. With the additional resources, the fire was contained at the ½ acre.
A fire department investigator arrived and searched for the cause of the fire. It was determined that the fire started near a utility pole in a ravine. The ignition source was caused by the failure of electrical equipment.
One accessory dwelling unit received moderate damaged as a result of the fire. There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
