Board of Library Trustees

The City Council appoints nine residents to serve up to two four-year terms as trustees of the Library. Regular monthly meetings are open to the public.

The Board of Library Trustees has power and duty as set forth in Section 808 of The Charter of the City of Riverside, including (1) charge of the administration of City libraries and to make and enforce such bylaws, rules and regulations as may be necessary therefore, (2) consideration of the annual budget for library purposes during the process of its preparation and making recommendations with respect thereto to the City Council and the City Manager, and (3) the power to approve or disapprove the appointment, suspension or removal of the Library Director.
