APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR CHIEF’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Riverside, CA - The Riverside Police Department’s resident advisory panel has been in place since 2001.  The purpose of the Chief's Advisory Committee (CAC) is to provide a forum where key stakeholders can act as a community resource for Chief Larry Gonzalez in the development of strategies, sharing of community concerns, and increasing public trust.  The CAC is comprised of a diverse cross-section of community activists, business leaders, and citizens representing the city of Riverside.

The CAC is not a review committee of any police action, whether internal or external, but will act solely in an advisory capacity for matters relating to community concerns.  It will be driven by the imagination of its members and is intended to be a reflection of the community's viewpoints.

Comprised of at least 15 persons, but not more than 25 community leaders from throughout the community that includes 3 high school students, the CAC will represent a range of interests and experience.  Selected committee members will come from diverse backgrounds, including business, education, non-profits, public relations, faith community, political arena, and more.

“This will be my opportunity to meet with our stakeholders, including youth representatives, on a monthly basis and talk about the tough issues we are all facing together in our city,” Chief Gonzalez stated.  “The Chief’s Advisory Committee will continue to help us stay engaged in these important and relevant conversations.”

If you are interested in assisting Chief Gonzalez regarding our community’s needs and concerns, apply now to the Chief’s Advisory Committee.  To learn more about the CAC, member’s roles, and the applications process, visit our website at https://riversideca.gov/rpd/about-contact/office-chief/chiefs-advisory-committee.
