City of Riverside and UC Riverside Celebrate Groundbreaking on SoCal OASIS™ Park

Eight-acre site will be transformative green tech hub for the Inland Southern California region

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of California, Riverside (UCR) will host the official groundbreaking for the SoCal OASIS™ Park on Monday, June 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the former UCR Extension Center site on University Avenue.

The 8-acre campus—part of the Opportunities to Advance Sustainability, Innovation, and Social Inclusion (OASIS) initiative—will serve as a transformative green tech hub for the Inland Southern California region.

Backed by a $68 million investment, the Park combines applied research, workforce development, and entrepreneurial infrastructure to address the region’s most pressing sustainability challenges.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

The first phase of the SoCal OASIS Park includes:

  • Building 1 (~36,000 sq. ft.) featuring incubator and maker space, training rooms, and offices
  • Three specialized laboratories:
    • Sustainable Immersive Mobility Laboratory (SIML)
    • Sustainable Integrated Grid Laboratory (SIGL)
    • Atmospheric Simulation and Measurement Laboratory (ASML)
  • Public space and classrooms, supporting both academic and community use
  • EV charging stations, bike paths, and sustainability-focused site design

Now Accepting Future Tenants

The SoCal OASIS incubator is now accepting interest from future green tech startups, entrepreneurs, and research-driven companies seeking to locate in a vibrant, collaborative environment.
