City of Riverside to Hold First Aerospace Community Expo
Free event gives everyone a chance to learn about the aerospace industry
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – City Councilmember Steven Robillard invites the public to the city’s first-ever Aerospace Community Expo from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday (5/31) at the Riverside Airport. This new annual event aims to connect local students, families, and jobseekers with Riverside’s thriving aerospace sector and its high-paying, high-impact careers.
Hosted in partnership with industry leaders, educational institutions, and community organizations, the Expo will feature interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) exhibits, aviation simulators, static aircraft displays, and representatives from top aerospace companies and colleges.
“This expo is about more than showcasing aircraft -- it’s about opening doors,” Robillard said. “We’re investing in our future -- not just by growing the industry, but by growing the pipeline of local talent that will sustain it for generations to come.”
The event reflects Riverside’s historical legacy in aviation and its forward-looking role in aerospace innovation. With its unique location, infrastructure, and skilled workforce, Riverside is poised to lead in this rapidly evolving industry.
“Aerospace has always been a big part of Riverside’s history,” Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson said. “I am thrilled we are re-introducing the airport and aerospace careers to a new generation.”
The event is free and open to the public. Gates to the airport tarmac will open following the ceremony to allow guests to explore aircraft up close and engage directly with exhibitors.
