City of Riverside Invites Public to Code of Ethics and Conduct Meeting

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The City Council’s Inclusiveness, Community Engagement, and Governmental Processes Committee and Board of Ethics Ad Hoc Committee will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 to discuss and consider recommendations to Riverside Municipal Code (RMC) Chapter 2.78 Code of Ethics and Conduct. The public is invited to submit recommendations for amendments.

The City Charter, approved by voters in 2004, required the City to adopt a Code of Ethics and Conduct.  The Mayor, City Council, and members of City boards, commissions, and committees are subject to the provisions of the Code. The Code is reviewed annually for its effectiveness.

The City Council will conduct a public hearing prior to the end of the year to consider all recommendations.

For more information, visit the City’s Web site at www.riversideca.gov or call the City Clerk’s Office at (951) 826-5557 for a brochure and a copy of the code.
