Public meeting June 11 to gather input on Southern California transportation plan

Published: 06/05/2019

Riverside residents who would like to make their voices heard on how Southern California’s transportation system should grow in the next 25 years are invited to attend a community meeting on Tuesday, June 11, and/or participate in an online survey.

The Southern California Association of Governments is gathering input on Connect SoCal - the 2020-2045 Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy. Community workshops will share information about Connect SoCal and how transportation decisions can help the region grow, maintain our quality of life and meet our greenhouse gas emissions targets.

The Riverside workshop is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11 at the SCAG office, 3403 10th St., 8th floor, in downtown Riverside. There also is a workshop that evening in Corona, from 5-7 p.m., at the Corona Public Library, 650 S. Main St.

People who cannot attend the workshops are invited to complete an online survey, which is available at: http://connectsocal.org/survey.

The effort is critical because Southern California is expected to add 4 million people during that 25-year period.
