Riverside’s Task Force 6 (USAR Team) Deploys Six Personnel to Hurricane Harvey
Published: 08/25/2017
Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR Team) Task Force 6 has deployed six members to Texas in preparation of Hurricane Harvey. They departed for Texas via commercial airline at 2:30 am this morning and have arrived safely in Dallas, TX.
Hurricane Harvey continues to intensify and may possibly be the nation's first Category 3 landfall in almost 12 years. Harvey could reach landfall tonight or Saturday morning, poised to clobber the Texas Gulf Coast with catastrophic rainfall, dangerous storm-surge flooding and destructive winds. This could leave parts of the area uninhabitable for an extended period.
CA-TF6 (California Task Force 6) has been requested to send their Incident Support Team (IST) to College Station, TX. These Task Force members include a Task Force leader, Cache Manager, Class A Drivers, communications and logistical support.
