RiversideTV to Premiere “A Good Life” Film Series

Debut episode to feature Ronald Loveridge, who served as Mayor from 1994-2012

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – RiversideTV, the City of Riverside’s in-house television production studio, is premiering a new documentary series that focuses on people who have had a positive impact on the quality of life in Riverside, starting with Ronald Loveridge, who served Riverside as an elected official for 32 years, including 18 as Mayor.

The documentary film series “A Good Life” will premiere at 8 p.m. Monday (10/15) on RiversideTV, with a special two-hour feature presentation.  Each episode of “A Good Life” will chronicle the life of an individual who has made a significant impact on the City of Riverside, its people, policies, or profile, through a lifetime of public service and community involvement.

“Our goal was not just to list their many accomplishments, some of which are a matter of public record, but to engage them in a deeply personal conversation about who or what inspired them to a life of public service and action,” said Tim Roche, RiversideTV host and narrator for the series. “We want to know how they define ‘A Good Life’, the advice they have for those who want to follow a similar path, their hopes for the community, and what they have learned along the way from both successes and challenging times.”

Loveridge served 32 years in elected office as both a four-term City Council member, and five-term Mayor. He is in the midst of his 53rd year as a Political Science Professor at the University of California, Riverside, and he and wife Marsha recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

“Over many years I was honored by the opportunity to represent and serve the residents of Riverside,” Loveridge said. “Together we changed the trajectory of the city -- Pride in Riverside!”

The series is a production of RiversideTV, which recently won eight awards for its programming, including five first-place finishes, from the California and Nevada chapter of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.

RiversideTV can be viewed locally on Charter Spectrum channel 3, AT&T channel 99, and Frontier channel 21. RiversideTV is also available at WatchRiverside.com and YouTube.com/CityofRiverside.  The station broadcasts 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and has a reach of more than 500,000 locally.
