Picnic Shelters


Enjoy a picnic at the park!

Reservable shelters may be used by permit only.  Picnic shelter reservation fees are $65-115* per hour for a standard size shelter for 8 hour daily rate, and $100-$170* for a large size shelter for 8 hour daily rate.  To request a picnic shelter reservation, click Picnic Shelter Request

Picnic shelter reservation information:

  • Reservations cannot begin earlier than 8 a.m. or end later than 6 p.m.
  • Reservations must be made a minimum of 30 days prior to event.
  • Amplified sound is prohibited.
  • Electricity is not available.  Generators are recommended.
  • Required paperwork, such as security contracts and liability insurance, must be submitted no later than two (2) weeks prior to the event.  Insurance certificate may be submitted in person or emailed to parks@riversideca.gov.
  • Open flame and personal barbecue grills are strictly prohibited.  Only charcoal is to be used in the barbecues available (Ord. 6526 § 2. 2000).
  • Applicants permitted to use inflatables/jumpers must provide Liability Insurance with an Additional Insured Endorsement Page from the Insurance Company.
    • Insurance must cover a minimum of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate and name the City as additionally insured on separate endorsement page.  Additional fees apply.
      • The City of Riverside PRCSD must be listed as a certificate holder with the following language:

  • Nails, tacks, and tape are prohibited.  Any use of these items will result in the loss of your deposit. You may also be billed for any additional charges the PRCSD may incur during restoration of the facility.
  • REFUNDS will not be granted for picnic shelter rentals.

  • The following parks do not have restrooms available: Bergamont, Carlson, Castleview, Collett, Dario Vasquez, Harrison, Highland, Low, Mt. Rudidoux, Mtn. View, Newman, North, Riverwalk Dog Park, Rutland, Swanson, Sycamore Highland, Taft, Thundersky, Doty-Trust, Islander (inside pool area only), Lincoln (inside community center only), Myra Lynn and Arlington (on site but not opened due to vandalism).
