The City of Riverside is committed to the safety, dignity, and well-being of all community members.
From time to time, federal immigration authorities may operate within the City. These activities are conducted independently by federal agencies, and their presence may not always be communicated to Riverside PD in advance. As a result, enforcement activity can be unpredictable.
The City does not participate in federal immigration enforcement. Consistent with California law, including Senate Bill 54, the Riverside Police Department does not assist federal immigration authorities with civil immigration enforcement activities. RPD’s focus remains on public safety and community trust.
When appropriate, the City may share general information to help residents stay informed and aware of available resources and support. If community members observe activity they wish to report, they may submit information through the City’s reporting portal here.
Residents are encouraged to avoid interfering with or obstructing federal operations and to refrain from creating unsafe situations. The City’s role is to provide information, connect residents to resources, and ensure continued access to City services for everyone who lives, works, and visits Riverside.
