Chalk the Walks
This annual event that occurs on the third Tuesday in August is an opportunity to build community by spreading joy and positive messages through the magic of sidewalk chalk. The Neighborhood Engagement Division provides Chalk Stops at all community centers and libraries as a way to encourage participation.
National Good Neighbor Day
National Good Neighbor Day is observed every year on September 28th and was created to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of a good neighbor. It is great to have a good neighbor, but it is even better to BE a good neighbor! Access the Good Neighbor Day toolkit.
Post-it Art Show
This is a citywide event where residents can showcase the assets in their neighborhoods by creating art pieces utilizing Post-it notes as their canvas. The Post-it Art Show is an opportunity to let neighborhood pride shine through while illustrating all that is good in Riverside. This is a collaboration between the City of Riverside and the Riverside Art Museum (RAM). Post-it Notes are distributed throughout our community centers and public libraries then collected by staff and taken to RAM where their staff culls through all submissions in preparation for a Citywide Post-it Art Show exhibit where the community’s artwork is on display.
