Riverside residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on porch lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors hosting special events for ‘America’s 43rd Annual Night Out Against Crime’.
Join the Riverside Police and Fire Departments for a joint celebration featuring a variety of fun family-friendly activities and demonstrations, including emergency vehicles, information booths, and more!

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual citywide community event supported by the Riverside Police and Fire Departments in partnership with our residents, businesses, and city leadership that brings neighbors together to promote community partnerships, crime prevention, and solidarity – a night to have fun while taking a stand against crime.
Become a Community Partner
The Riverside Police Department is currently seeking participation from law enforcement agencies, public safety organizations, and community orgnizations interested in hosting an informational booth during the event.
Applications will be accepted online beginning Monday, July 13, 2026, until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2026.
How Can You Celebrate National Night Out?
Attend a Community Event - Check out the various National Night Out events happening throughout Riverside. From park gatherings to neighborhood block parties, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Host a Party - Gather your neighbors, fire up the grill, and enjoy an evening of food, music, and games right on your street or on your front lawn. Strengthen bonds with those who live around you while sending a powerful message that your community stands united against crime. If you plan on closing a public street or sidewalk, be sure to submit a Neighborhood Block Party Application. You can also request a visit from the Riverside Fire Department by submitting a Public Education Request.
Engage with Law Enforcement – Connect with a Community Services Officer, Police Officer, or Firefighter. Take part in demonstrations, learn about crime and fire prevention strategies; discover how you can work together to keep your neighborhood safe.
Spread the Word - Share the excitement with your friends, family, and neighbors. Encourage them to mark their calendars and join in the festivities. The more, the merrier!
How Will Your Neighborhood Benefit?
Coordination or participation in National Night Out events will help strengthen neighborhood spirit, police-community partnerships, and will send a message to criminals that you have taken control of your neighborhood, and they are being watched.
