Riverside Government, Education and Business Leaders Visit Ensenada

Mayor Rusty Bailey and business and education leaders from Riverside recently concluded a three-day Sister Cities trip to Ensenada, Mexico to discuss possible cross-border business and educational ventures and to look for ways to celebrate the upcoming 40th anniversary of this important city-to-city relationship. The July 29-31 trip was spearheaded by Mayor Bailey’s office and Ramon Alvarez of Alvarez Lincoln and Alvarez Jaguar in Riverside. The delegation of about 15 people assembled at Riverside City Hall Wednesday afternoon, drove to Ensenada in vehicles provided by Alvarez and the City, and returned Friday afternoon. Read More...

Neighborhood Postcard Project Spurs Creativity, Community Connections

Riverside residents who are proud of their neighborhoods can speak out through the Neighborhood Postcard Project, an endeavor blossoming across town through the efforts of the Unified City pillar group of Seizing Our Destiny. The Neighborhood Postcard Project is a global participatory art project that fosters community connection through a storytelling exchange. The Project builds community connections, awareness and pride in our neighborhoods by sharing personal, positive stories on printed or virtual postcards. Read More...

City of Riverside, State Agency Outline Potential Next Steps Regarding Ag Park

The City of Riverside and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) have outlined potential next steps for dealing with concerns about possible contamination at the property known as Ag Park. The agreement came after a recent meeting at Riverside City Hall. City Manager John A. Russo and DTSC Director Barbara A. Lee co-chaired the Friday (7/24) meeting, which also included city executive staff and representatives from the City Attorney’s Office, as well as DTSC experts in environmental science, environmental justice and environmental law.
