Operations

Under the direction of the Deputy Fire Chief of Operations, the City of Riverside Fire Department responds to over 39,000 emergency calls annually. Operations employs 216 full-time firefighters, housed 24/7 in 14 strategically located fire stations spanning a primary response area of over 81 square miles.

Operations personnel maintain a vast array of skillsets that include Basic and Advanced Life Support Services; Hazardous Materials and Decontamination expertise; and structural and wildland firefighting. In addition, many of our personnel have advanced skill sets in the areas of Technical Rescue training, including horse rescue, heavy rescue, high-angle rescue, confined space rescue, and swift/surface water rescue.

 

 

Mutual and automatic aid is provided to our immediate neighbors and communities throughout the State through the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.
