Crossing guards assist elementary school students going to and coming from schools in both the Riverside Unified School District and Alvord School District within the City. In 2019, the City entered into a cost sharing agreement with both school districts who now pay half (50 percent) of all crossing guard costs associated with their respective districts.
All crossing guard services are provided by All City Management Services, Inc (ACMS). Under the City’s direction, ACMS not only hires, trains and supervises crossing guards; but also coordinates the scheduling and posting of crossing guards at locations determined by the respective school districts.
