Vector Control is the protection of public health through the identification, prevention, and control of pests (typically insects and rodents) that transmit infectious diseases such as West Nile Virus and Hantavirus.
Starting July 1, 2013, the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District will provide vector control services with environmentally safe approaches to address mosquitoes, Africanized bees, rats, rodents, and other vectors. On May 16, 2013, ballots for the annexation were tabulated and was approved by a majority of 60.73%.
