What do I get with my library card?

Do more than simply borrow books! Check out iPads, hotspots, eBooks/eAudiobooks, tools, and toys. You can also access Online Resources like digital magazines, journal articles, and the Press-Enterprise.

How do I get a library card?

Apply for a card online or at any of our locations.

Get access to eBooks and online resources as soon as you finish!

Visit any of our locations with your valid picture ID to pick up your physical library card.

If you don't have an ID, you can still apply for a library card and gain access to desktop computers and printing.

How many items can I check out?

Check out up to 25 items at a time.

For toys, kits, and tools, you can check out two at a time. These will count toward your total of 25.

How long can I keep my check outs?

Most items check out for two weeks. If no one has requested the item you have, it will automatically renew up to three times.

How do I manage my account online?

Log into your account using the number on the back of your card (beginning 10001xxxxxxxx) and the PIN or password you created when you signed up.

You can see what you have checked out, request a book, view your past searches, and update your information.

If you have forgotten your PIN or need any help, call us at any library branch during open hours.

How do I request items?

Look up items in the library catalog and click “Place Hold” for the item you want. You can also call any library branch during open hours.

If we don't have what you're looking for, try Zip Books or Interlibrary Loan.

What if I lose my card?

Please contact any library branch immediately to let us know if your card is lost or stolen. We will block the account so the card cannot be used by anyone else.

If someone else uses your card, you will be liable for any charges they incur.

What if I miss my due date?

The Library does not charge late fees for items returned after the due date. Just return them!

If an item is lost or damaged, your account will be charged for the cost of the item plus a $10.75 processing fee.

If something is overdue by a month or more, it will be marked as lost and charged to your account. Once you return the item, the charge will come off your account.

Please note: Parents are responsible for items borrowed by children under 18.

Can I buy office supplies from you?

The Library does not offer envelopes, pens, pencils, markers, or other office supplies for sale or lending.
