The Aquatics section offers camps for youth 5 - 12 years of age during the summer months.
SUMMER SPLASH DAY CAMP
The only way to describe Summer Splash Day Camp is outrageous fun.
This program offers swim lessons, recreation swim, arts and crafts, games and field trips.
Camp is held Monday – Friday, excluding national holidays,
at Sippy Woodhead Pool in the Bobby Bonds Sports Complex ( 2060 University Ave ) and at Hunt Park ( 4015 Jackson St ).
Campers receive free lunch provided by the Summer Food Program, along with two snacks.
Camp Hours: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Price: $118/1 week ($177/Non-Resident) (Price includes field trips and t-shirt)
$10 transportation fee
JR. LIFEGUARD CAMP
This camp is designed to introduce youth to the skills needed in the lifeguarding field.
Participants will be introduced to First Aid, CPR/AED and Basic Water Rescue techniques and must be 12-17 years of age,
be able to swim front crawl for at least 25 yards continuously, tread water for one minute, and swim 10 feet under water.
This class does not certify your child as a lifeguard. This camp is held at Hunt Park Pool.
Camp Hours: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Price: $80/2 wks. ($120/Non-Resident)
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (PRCSD) is once again teaming up with Kaiser Permanente to help residents stay cool and fit during the hot summer months. Scholarships are available for a variety of aquatics programs (swim lessons, Jr. Lifeguard and pool passes) thanks to a generous grant from the Kaiser Permanente. PRCSD and Kaiser will sponsor qualifying low-income individuals in Riverside communities to participate in the above mentioned activities. Requirement: need proof of income, identification (California I.D. or Drivers License) and current address.
