Traffic Collision Reports

Traffic Collision Reports are available to parties involved in a collision, registered owners of vehicles involved in a collision, or representatives of parties involved with proper authorization provided by the involved parties.

Collision reports are available approximately 10 working days after the incident. Reports involving criminal proceedings may be subject to redactions, however, the collision information is available for insurance and civil purposes as soon as it is approved by the Traffic Division.

Reports can be requested in person at one our stations (see Records Information on the right for location and hours) or by mail for a fee of $12.90. Requests must contain pertinent information that identifies an involved party that matches a Traffic Collision Report (examples: Police Report Number, date of accident, copy of Driver’s License, date of birth, authorization to an insurance company). For mail in requests a check or money order made payable to City of Riverside must accompany the request to initiate the process.

In our continuing effort to improve the processing and delivery of Traffic Collision Reports, we have partnered with LexisNexis and have implemented online availability to purchase these reports. For an additional $10.00 convenience fee, involved parties can purchase a Traffic Collision Report through the LexisNexis eCrash website at https://ecrash.lexisnexis.com/search.

Note: Traffic Collision reports involving a fatality or on-duty emergency vehicle will not be available through LexisNexis and will only be available through the Police Department.
