Bulky Items

Have bulky items that won’t fit or are too heavy for your can? You have options!

  • Schedule a bulky item appointment by calling the City of Riverside at (951) 826-5311
  • On the day of your bulky appointment, please make sure your items are curbside by 5:30 am.
    • Items must be at the curb (not in the street) by 5:30 am of pick-up day.
    • Items may be placed on the curb the night before your bulky appointment.
    • Items may not be placed on the curb more than 24 hours prior to the appointment.
  • ONLY 2 appointments per year.
  • ONLY 5 items will be picked up per appointment (3 trash bags weighing no more than 20 pounds = 1 item.  No more than 15 bags.).
  • If items exceed 5 items and driver picks up those items, a second appointment will be automatically deducted. 
  • Smaller items must be bagged or boxed -- no heavier than 20lbs.  
  • Yard waste / tree trimmings - Must be tied in bundles 18 inches in diameter and no longer than 36 inches. No large limbs, tree trunks, or stumps.
  • Each item can be serviced individually.  You do not need to be bundle with other items.
  • We will NOT pick up more than 5 mattresses in 1 appointment.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule for any reason, you must call before closing of the previous business day to avoid losing 1 of 2 appointments per address per year.
  • Other options:
    • Drop off at Agua Mansa Transfer Station located at 1830 Agua Mansa Road, every third Saturday from 8 am – 4 pm. Closed on Holidays.
    • Drop off at a Clean Up Riverside event. 

 


Accepted Curbside Items Non-Acceptable Curbside Items

The list below identifies which items are accepted during FREE curbside pickup services.

Accepted Curbside Items

Furniture

  • Couch/Sofa
  • Table
  • Chair
  • Desk
  • Bed frame
  • Rug (4ft x 4ft max size. Must be rolled up and tied/bundled.)
  • Carpet (4ft x 4ft max size. Must be rolled up and tied/bundled.)
    • You may cut a larger piece of carpet into 5 separate pieces of 4ft x 4ft to meet the size limits.
    • Each piece of carpet will count as 1 item.

Mattresses

  • MUST be completely wrapped in plastic or bagged.
  • We will not collect the mattress if any part of the mattress is exposed.

Tree Trimmings/Yard Waste

  • Must be tied in bundles 18 inches in diameter and no longer than 36 inches. No large limbs, tree trunks, or stumps.

Appliances

  • Stove
  • Washer
  • Dryer

Water Heaters

  • MUST be completely purged.
  • We will not collect the water heater if there is any liquid inside.

Pool Pumps

  • MUST be completely purged.
  • We will not collect the pool pump if there is any liquid inside.
