All City residential trash services are managed by the Public Works Solid Waste Division. Service is once per week with the same day pick up for all three trash types.
Effective July 1, 2023, some areas of the city such as La Sierra, University and Orangecrest are serviced by Athens Services under contract to the City.
On September 19, 2023 a public hearing was held before the City Council of the City of Riverside to consider proposed increases to the City’s residential trash rates. The City Council adopted a resolution approving the residential rates for the current fiscal year through June 2024.
Rates are effective November 1, 2023.
