Clean Up Riverside promotes the value of maintaining a clean city, encourages responsible litter habits, and strengthens community pride and involvement.

Keeping Riverside clean and well maintained helps discourage vandalism, graffiti, littering, and crime.

Periodic Collection Events

As part of the Clean Up Riverside campaign, the City hosts periodic bulky-item and electronic-waste collection events for materials that are too large to fit inside residential trash containers. Items are collected free of charge for City of Riverside residents.

Updated Guidelines for Free Drop-Off Days

As part of the City’s commitment to responsible waste management and cleaner neighborhoods, residents should be aware of an important change to the Free Drop-Off Days program at the Agua Mansa Transfer Station.

Effective April 2025, the City began accepting self-hauled tires from residents exclusively at Clean Up Riverside events. Tire disposal is no longer included as a free service during Free Drop-Off Days at Agua Mansa.

Tires and Rims Not Accepted for Free Drop-Off

The following items are not accepted for free during Agua Mansa Free Drop-Off Days:

Passenger-vehicle tires
Truck tires
Tractor or agricultural tires
Tires with or without rims
Loose rims

Tire Disposal Fees at Agua Mansa

Residents who bring tires to the Agua Mansa Transfer Station are responsible for the applicable disposal fees:

Passenger-car tires without rims: $14 per tire, with a maximum of nine tires
Truck tires without rims: $21 per tire

Please note: Fees are subject to change. Contact the material recovery facility directly at 1-866-BURRTEC or [email protected].

Residents can avoid these fees by using a Clean Up Riverside event, where qualifying tire disposal continues to be provided at no cost.

Passenger-vehicle tires without rims; no commercial tires
Bulky items
Electronic waste, including computers and televisions
Yard waste and green waste
Metal
Broken tile and ceramics placed securely inside boxes for removal
Concrete in small, half-ton pickup-truck loads

Restrictions: No commercial waste and no trailers longer than 10 feet.

Electronic waste prepared for collection, including keyboards and phones

September Event + New Textile Recycling

E-Waste, Shredding, Bulb/Battery Collection Day, and NEW Textile Recycling Event

Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 8 a.m.–noon

8095 Lincoln Avenue at St. Lawrence Street

This separate collection day helps reduce congestion at other Clean Up Riverside events.

New Textile Recycling Event: Bring your unwanted clothes, electronics, and household items in good condition for donation, in partnership with Goodwill. View accepted donation items (PDF) , opens in a new tab .

Restrictions: Do not bring household hazardous waste, commercial business documents, pallets of documents, or documents in bags. All paper-shredding materials must be boxed.

No tires, tractor tires, or rims
Proof of City of Riverside residency is required; bring a current utility bill
All loads must be covered in accordance with the California Vehicle Code
