Fiscal Policies
The City’s fiscal policies assist in ensuring its long-term fiscal stability. These policies are intended to provide direction so that the City’s finances are managed in a manner that will continue to provide for the delivery of quality services; maintain an enhanced service delivery; ensure a balanced budget; and establish reserves necessary to meet known and unknown future obligations.
Fiscal policies are included in the City’s budget, and are an essential component of long-term forecasts and contingency plans. We believe they will help provide critical analysis and sound review for budget development decisions.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Finance Department is to provide fiduciary control of the
City’s assets, perform fiscally related services, and provide accurate, timely
and useful financial information to support the delivery of municipal services
to the City organization and the public. The Finance Department consists of the
Administration, Accounting, Financial Resources, and Purchasing & Risk
Management Divisions.
