Each medical provider also provides a variety of support services to members enrolled. The Standard offers EAP services to members enrolled in Long Term Disability (LTD). Blue Shield of California offers a variety of mental health services including:
LifeReferrals 24/7 provides confidential support to its members, including counseling sessions, identity theft, financial, legal, and mediation questions. For assistance accessing the LifeReferrals service, please call 800-985-2405.
Telebehavioral Health is a convenient and secure alternative for members to access mental health or substance use services in the privacy of their own home. Telebehavioral Health provides support for stress, anxiety, depression, grief, panic attacks, and stress from coping with an illness.
The Behavioral Health Condition Management program is designed to help members who are enrolled in the Chronic Condition Management programs who also are determined to be depressed. This depression-centered behavioral health program is intended to help members overcome their depression so they can effectively focus on following their treatment plan for their chronic condition.
Blue shield covers behavioral health treatment, including medically necessary professional services and treatments, such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and evidence-based intervention programs, for covered individuals with pervasive development disorder or autism. All behavioral health treatment must get prior authorization from Blue Shield’s mental health service administrator (MHSA), which can be reached at 800-378-1109.
